Job Profile 

We are looking to expand our legal team with an enthusiastic mid-level to senior lawyer to work on a broad range of M&A, corporate and commercial matters. The role is remote, starting September 2023.

The successful candidate will report to our General Counsel and will support on a variety of matters including: 

 

  • Leading and negotiating M&A transactions, including liaising with counterparties and external counsel on due diligence, transaction structuring, term sheet and transaction documents 
  • Providing counsel and guidance to our Funds and portfolio companies on corporate and commercial matters as well as associated legal issues, and participating in contract review and negotiations 
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of agreements including confidentiality agreements, memorandum of understanding, shareholders and services agreements
  • Assisting with corporate governance (including general corporate housekeeping and filing), compliance and dispute matters as required  
  • Assisting in the review and update of our corporate and ESG policies and procedures 

Key qualifications and skills required 

 

  • Law degree from a reputable university and a minimum of five years’ experience in an international law firm or the legal department of a global corporation
  • Experience in global M&A transactions  – lead transactions constructively and efficiently  
  • Quick thinker, with strong analytical skills and an acute attention to detail and strong focus on accuracy 
  • Excellent drafting abilities (in English) and strong written and verbal communication skills, Arabic language skills will be a plus 
  • Ability to accommodate tight deadline, outstanding organizational skills, ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
  • ‘Hands on’ mentality, comfortable to be working closely with the management team, in a fast-paced environment
  • Can work independently and collaboratively, creating strong and positive working relationships both internally and with external parties
