On Tuesday October 14th at a special ceremony, The White House honored local “Disability Employment Champions of Change” who are doing extraordinary work to create employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Among those honored was Oz Mondejar, Senior Vice President of Mission and Advocacy at Spaulding Rehabilitation Network and Partners HealthCare at Home. Oz is one of just ten honorees from across the nation. The ceremony featured U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez, Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council Cecelia Muñoz, Chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Jenny Yang, and other Senior Administration Officials.

Oz was recognized for his role in helping to create the Working Partners Program, a first of its kind public private partnership between Spaulding and Partners HealthCare at Home and the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission. The Working Partners Program was created to help remove barriers to employment for people with disabilities.
